Children & Youth
The Church of Saint Clement welcomes children of all ages (and those of us who are young at heart!) to participate in the life of our community – in and outside of worship.

Worship Services and Nursery Care

All children are welcomed (noises and all) to worship with their parents for the entirety of the services on Sunday. Worship bags with soft toys, puzzles, books and coloring activities are provided for all children. However, there is nursery care available for children four years of age or younger during the 10:00AM service. Our nursery is staffed by a professional care giver (one of the teachers in the preschool) and a second adult volunteer from the parish.

Sunday School

From mid-September through mid-June, Church School is offered during the first half of the 10:00AM service each Sunday. Our younger students attend a program called Godly Play which uses a Montessori-like method to invite children to hear stories from the Bible and about the tradition of the church in a way that promotes wonder and exploration. Our older children (3rd grade and up) will attend a new class this year called “Building Faith Brick by Brick.” In this class, students will read stories from Scripture and respond by building Lego art.

Outreach

Children and youth are also welcomed to participate in the many outreach opportunities at the Church of Saint Clement: helping their parents prepare meals for the Carpenter Shelter or making sandwiches for the brown bag lunch program, helping open the overnight shelter during the winter season, and collecting toys and school supplies for other children in need.
