Episcopal Day School Staff
Dory Herman-Sample is the Director of the school. She has been in Preschool education since 1972, starting as an undergraduate in a university preschool as a student intern, graduating with a BA in Psych/Education. She has an MA in Family Counseling, and has taught preschool, middle school, and college students. She definitely prefers the preschool world. She has been a member of our staff since 2005.
Carole Stover is our School Administrator and joined our staff in 2015. She has “retired” from her professional career as an I.T. Director in 2013 and in 2014 worked as a Classroom Assistant at the Del Ray Montessori School. She has an M.F.A. in Acting from George Washington University and a B.A. in Speech & Drama from Catholic University. She has one son and her husband works as a Journalist for the National School Boards Association.
Peggy Diesing is the Lead Teacher in our Gold Room (2 1/2 year olds). Peggy is a native of Germany, where she taught Pre-School and Special Education. She has two children.
Jona Gilliam joins us this year as the Assistant Teacher in the Gold Room. She has a M.A. in Education, and has tutored at military posts around the country. She has twin high school children.
Katey Kerns started this year as the is the Lead Teacher in the Silver Room (2 ½ year olds). She has a B.A. in Fine Arts, and previously worked in a Montessori program.
Maria Pineda is our Assistant Teacher in the Yellow Room. Maria is a native of Peru, and has been on staff at St. Clement since 1997. She is the proud grandmother of two little girls.
Susie LaValle is our Lead Teacher in the Orange Room (3 yr.olds). Her son Whit is a graduate of our program. She has been with us since 2005.
Gabi Salas is our Assistant Teacher in the Yellow Room. Gabi loves working with our little ones. She has been a member of our staff since 2014.
Maria Medrano is our Lead Teacher in the Purple Room (3 year olds). Mrs. Medrano has been with our program since 1994. Mrs. Medrano is a native of Mexico, and has a BA in Early Childhood education. Mrs. Medrano is also the Lead Teacher for our After Care program.
Linda Meadows is our Assistant Teacher in the Purple Room. She has been with our program since 1997. She is the artist responsible for the mural in the school library, as well as over the water fountain in the main hallway. She and our Music Teacher created the beautiful stained glass windows on the end of each hallway.
April Stewart is our Green Room (4 year olds) Lead Teacher. April has been with our program since 2005. April has recently completed her CDA studies. She is well known for creative job charts and "world famous" vegan chocolate chip pancakes!
Tuangrat McMaster is our Green Room Assistant Teacher. Ms. Tuangrat was a parent in our program; both her boys are graduates of St. Clement. She is a native of Thailand. Ms. Tuangrat has been with the program since 2008. She has her CDA and an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, and is also a licensed massage therapist.
Marian Galloway is our Lead Teacher in the Red Room (older 4’s) and began at St. Clement in 2015. Ms. Marian is a native Virginian and has a daughter Jada.
Pilar Fernandez is our Assistant Teacher in the Red Room. She has been with our program since 2007. Pilar has a CDA and years of experience working with young children. She is a native of Chile.
Alison Salanski is our Lead Teacher in the Blue Room (Junior Kindergarten). She has been with our program since 2008, when the Blue Room was first begun. Alison has an MA in Education. While her classroom is the smallest in the school, it’s full of big ideas!
Amanda Ruff is our Assistant Teacher in the Blue Room and joined our staff in 2015 She is also the Mom of three active boys.
Ann Williams is our Music Teacher. She has been a staff member since 1995, and her children were also graduates of St. Clement. Ann is also a certified Wildlife Rehabilitator, and brings in some of the squirrels who live with her permanently for the children to see. Ann is the artist who created all the stained glass windows in the classrooms.
Cooking & Library
Diana West has returned to St. Clement, this time as a staff member, having 2 graduates of the school. Ms. Diana loves "booking and cooking" and maintains a blog to share those classroom activities with parents.
